What Is The BioCycle Study?

  • The BioCycle Study is: A research study of healthy women, ages 18 to 44 years, who are menstruating regularly.

  • The Purpose Of The BioCycle Study is: To examine the effects of hormone changes in the blood during the menstrual cycle. Specifically, we will look at changes in estrogen and progesterone and how they affect measures of oxidative stress and other factors.

  • It is designed to: Collect blood and urine from 250 women to assess levels of hormones and factors involved in oxidative stress.

 

The National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), with the University at Buffalo, is conducting the BioCycle Study.
